New York has been hiding a gem, and that gem is a band named Bellicose.
I was fortunate enough to discover this band recently, and I couldn't be more thrilled. With members hailing from the Bronx, Long Island, Brooklyn, and Staten Island, Bellicose brings a unique blend of influences to the table. Drawing inspiration from heavyweights like The Warriors, Bloodlet, Poison the Well, Backtrack, and Knocked Loose, you can bet this band is something special.
I have a deep appreciation for well-executed, heavy-hitting metal, and Bellicose delivers that in spades. If you prefer your music on the wild side, I highly recommend giving these guys a listen. They embody no-holds-barred brutal hardcore at its finest.
Bellicose truly packs a punch, delivering everything you could ask for in a heavy band. Their all-out onslaught of sound is both savage and awe-inspiring. The pummeling percussion keeps the intensity under control—snappy, tight, and neck-breaking. The beastly bass lines anchor the music, pounding out deep, low frequencies that keep the band grounded.
The snarling guitars and vicious vocals are the icing on this cake of brutality. They add a cutting edge to the sound, rounding off an incredibly polished and ferocious experience that leaves you craving more. The pace changes and breakdowns are hard-hitting, dropping into relentless, off-the-hook savagery that keeps you on your toes.
Bellicose's latest offering, Modern Mammal, is a slick, well-produced EP that delves into primal instincts trapped within modern society's suffocating structures. It embodies the grotesque struggle of existence in an unnatural world.
Bellicose is definitely a band to watch. Don’t miss out on the brutal brilliance they bring to the scene.
