There’s a shift in the air in the Arch Enemy camp — and it’s not subtle.
After weeks of online silence and mounting speculation, the Swedish extreme metal heavyweights have resurfaced with a brand-new single, “To The Last Breath,” and a major lineup reveal that signals the beginning of a bold new chapter.
The track is the band’s first new material since 2023’s Blood Dynasty, and it wastes no time making a statement. Brutal, razor-tight and driven by that unmistakable melodic death metal precision, “To The Last Breath” feels both classic and confrontational — a reminder of why Arch Enemy remain one of the genre’s most enduring forces.
But the real headline? A new voice at the helm.

Lauren Hart Steps Into the Fire
“To The Last Breath” marks the debut of vocalist Lauren Hart, formerly of Once Human. Her arrival follows weeks of fan speculation, fueled by the band wiping their social media clean and going dark without explanation.
Hart’s performance isn’t a tentative introduction — it’s a baptism by fire. Her vocals tear through the track with venom and control, locking seamlessly into the band’s signature sound while adding a sharpened edge of her own. It’s a confident first strike that suggests this isn’t just a lineup change — it’s a recalibration.
Guitarist and founding member Michael Amott has made it clear this evolution feels personal. He describes working with Hart as a pivotal step forward, praising her voice, commitment and professionalism. More importantly, he emphasizes that the new material aligns closely with his original vision for the band — something longtime fans will likely pick up on immediately.
Lyrically, “To The Last Breath” is framed as a moment of reckoning — a confrontation with manipulation and false control. It’s about that flash of clarity when you realize you’ve been misled, and the only option left is to fight back. There’s no halfway point here. No retreat. Just all or nothing.
In other words: classic Arch Enemy spirit.
Back to the Root of All Evil – Summer 2026
As if unveiling a new vocalist and single wasn’t enough, the band have also announced a rare run of intimate European club shows for summer 2026, fittingly titled “Back To The Root Of All Evil.”
For a band accustomed to commanding massive festival stages and cavernous venues, this stripped-back club tour is a deliberate return to something rawer and more immediate.
Among the highlights are two particularly special UK dates: a long-overdue first appearance at Manchester’s Rebellion, and a return to London’s The Underworld — their first time there since December 2002.
Other stops include Berlin, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, Krakow, Paris, Vitoria, Utrecht and more, wrapping up in Manchester on August 11. Given the venue sizes — and the band’s usual drawing power — these shows are almost guaranteed to sell out fast.
It’s a bold move: new singer, new music, and an up-close club tour that strips away arena spectacle in favour of sweat, volume and direct connection.
If “To The Last Breath” is the warning shot, then summer 2026 looks set to be the ignition point.

As Amott himself puts it: just when you think it’s over, something new rises from the ashes. And if this single is anything to go by, Arch Enemy aren’t easing into this next era — they’re charging into it at full speed.
