Malissa Whitehouse Wins 2025 ISSA Award as Just a London Girl Captures the World’s Attention

British broadcaster, songwriter, and all-round creative force Malissa Whitehouse has had a standout year — and now she’s officially an award-winning radio host. Her weekly show, Just a London Girl, has just earned her the 2025 International Singer-Songwriters Association (ISSA) Award for Outstanding Achievement in Radio Broadcasting.

It’s not hard to see why.

Broadcast live and syndicated to more than 40 stations worldwide, Just a London Girl has quickly built a following of over 250,000 listeners across the globe — from London to Los Angeles, Cape Town to Sydney. The show blends handpicked tracks, celebrity interviews, and Malissa’s natural charm, offering what feels like an intimate catch-up with a friend who just happens to have A-list guests on speed dial.

Speaking about the award, Malissa told us:

Just a London Girl has always been about honest conversations and connecting with people. Winning this award means so much — but I believe the best is still ahead.”

And those conversations really do shine. The show’s popular “London Girl Celebrity Sofa” segment has welcomed everyone from Peter Cox (Go West), John Oates (Hall & Oates), and Howard Jones, to actor Tomi May (Killing Eve, Marvel) and 90s dance legend Rozalla. Whether it’s icons sharing stories from the road or rising stars talking about their craft, Malissa has a knack for making her guests feel at ease — and her audience feel included.

Of course, Malissa’s talents extend beyond the airwaves. She’s also an accomplished songwriter, producer, and performer. Her recent single, Over a Lifetime, has been praised for its emotional resonance and standout melody. Right now, she’s in the studio with international artist Jethro Sheeran, with new music expected soon.

So what’s next? If Malissa’s recent trajectory is anything to go by — more awards, more music, and even bigger interviews. But one thing’s for certain: Just a London Girl has become more than a radio show. It’s a community, a trusted voice, and a refreshing reminder of the power of authentic storytelling in a crowded media world.
