The summer is approaching and what a wild summer it will be if you’re going to Download Festival!
The lineup this year has something for everyone and caters for a wide age range. For me, being an older Metal fan, I’m really excited to see Bands like Pantera, Machine Head, Fear Factory and Biohazard on the bill and equally as excited to see some new, proven talent such as Urne, Bleed From Within and Electric Callboy.
I’ve often wondered what the transition from the traditional headliners to the bands of today/tomorrow would look like and I think that time is upon us.
Last year Bring Me The Horizon were incredible and I believe this year Download are catering for the older generation while lining up for the future.
My concern is when a heavy music festival sells out in terms of genre and stops being a festival for heavy music, but Download have found a way of weaving together a brilliant lineup of different genres that looks to be highly entertaining.
There are some quality Rock bands which are arena ready and on the other hand, seriously big heavy bands which will keep the older generation grinning from ear to ear, they’ve also managed to cater for everyone in between as well and I tip my cap to the organisers for bringing together such a brilliantly entertaining lineup with such diversity running through it.
I must give a shout out for the variety of cuisine on offer last year and hope this year will have the same vast amount of different foods available. The variety and quality was brilliant going by what I tried and to be fair, I ate a lot of different dishes while I was there and really looked forward to sampling food from different stalls.
The atmosphere was brilliant as usual and the weather perfect. This year is going to be incredible and I can’t wait to set off to DL24 for another Download to remember!
